Photoshop Insertion

Above is my final for the in class assignment today. The goal of this assignment was to successfully insert yourself into a background. I chose to put my roommate and I on top of a mountain. I find this picture humorous because we would never in a million years make it to the top of a mountain. We are both not the most active people. I enjoyed this project because it was somewhat quick and easy. The longest process was actually selecting us. Below are the two original pictures.

HTML Namaste

Here is my final html project. This project may have put me through a couple mental breakdowns, but I have managed to come out with a piece I am happy with. Html coding is a tetidous process, and might not be the best for impatient people. I spent several hours playing with codes to finally finish with what appears to be a simple drawing. Simple is not the case though, code is a extremely difficult thing to wrap one's head around. I do not recommend anyone that is not interesting in graphic design to do this for fun. Below is the long list of coding to make this project.

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
<script>
window.onload = function() {
var canvas = document.getElementById("myCanvas");
var context = canvas.getContext("2d");

////////////////////////////////////// start below this line ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇvar context = canvas.getContext('2d');
context.rect(0, 0, 800, 600);
// create radial gradient
var grd = context.createRadialGradient(200, 100, 350, 138, 50, 200);
// light blue
grd.addColorStop(0, '#9909FF');
// dark blue
grd.addColorStop(1, '#ffccff');

context.fillStyle = grd;
context.fill();

///nam\
var canvas = document.getElementById('myCanvas');
var context = canvas.getContext('2d');
context.font =  '20pt Apple Chancery';
context.fillStyle= 'black';
context.fillText('Namaste', 355, 295);

///outline of hand///
context.beginPath();
context.moveTo(200,260);
context.bezierCurveTo(360,320,250,475,350,525);
context.quadraticCurveTo(400,560,470,525);

Vector Illustration

The vector illustration project has been the most enjoyable project thus far. I am proud of my final piece and do not mind all the time I have spent in composing it. Though it was very time consuming and frustrating at times I managed to stick through it and could not be more happy. I did however choose to have a solid color as my background to avoid any distractions. I feel as it compliments the image very well. Now, that my friends have seen it they all want me to make them some too. Looks like I'll be getting a lot more comfortable with Illustrator. Below is my original picture of me and my boyfriend at prom.

Exquisite Corpse

For this assignment I had to construct a picture that was drawn by the class. The original image looks very similar to this with some minor tweaks. I chose to do a simple background so it would not take away from the detail of the corpse. I managed to have fun with this project and am happy with my final product!

Here are the 5 original brainstorms for my Outside the Wire logo. I decided to go with the second idea as my final logo.

Logo Project 1

This is my final logo for the company Outside the Wire. This company is an idea created by a soldier in the army. His company's purpose is to create military shirts for people in the military and their families. I have been working on this project for a few weeks now and am finally relieved to say it is complete! To construct this logo I used Adobe Illustrator, though I had zero experience with this program I pulled through. This project has taught me a various amount of tools offered by illustrator. I am excited to learn all that this program has to offer with future projects.

Caligramme sunset

My caligramme is a sunsetting across the ocean. The sun is filled with lyrics from the Kenny Chesney  song "No Shoes, No shirt, No Problem. The waves are represented by the words "Free Waves", and the colorful skies created by the sunset is just the word "Sunset" repeated over and over again. I enjoyed making this caligramme though I struggled through most of it.
